Institute for Nanotechnology (INT) was officially established with the name of Laboratory for Nanotechnology (LNT) in September 2004 as an affiliated institution of Vietnam National University - Ho Chi Minh City (VNUHCM). It was financed by the Higher Education Project of World Bank with the budget of 4 millions USD for equipment and the Vietnamese government with the budget of 3 millions USD afterwards. LNT was upgraded to INT on Nov. 25th 2016.
The organization of INT includes the Board of Directors, Office, R&D and Project Management Department, Planning & Finance Department, Facilities & Maintenance Department, Service - Technology Transfer & Commercialization Department and the Laboratory.
The INT has 50 permanent research staffs and most of the members are Professors, Doctors and Masters with varied backgrounds from materials science, physics, chemistry, microelectronics to biotechnology.
